Scope and Content

The UC Davis Asian American Studies files contains 4 series: Delano Publications, 1967-1977; Syllabi, 1969-1973; Filipino Files, 1930-1970; and Ang Katipunan newspapers, 1960-1980. Delano Files includes publications from non-profit labor organizations and various United Farm Workers publications that were created during the 1965-1970 Delano Grape Strike, such as flyers and informational handouts. Currently, only the Delano Publications and Syllabi are digitized. Ang Katipunan and Filipino Files will be digitized by the end of 2018.

Additional accruals are expected.

Series Descriptions

1. Delano Publications, 1967-1977.

This series is organized chronologically by date of publication.  

Delano Publications consists of include primary resource material dating back to the 1965-1970 Delano Grape Strike. Discussed within this series are strike operations, food caravans, and the role of Filipino labor leaders during the strike. Additionally, this series includes Philip Vera Cruz's resignation article from Ang Katipunan.

2. Syllabi, 1969-1973.

This series is organized by date.

Within this series are course syllabi dating back to the foundation of the Asian American studies courses. This series includes bibliographic sources along with listing of guest lectures such as Larry Itliong.
